Course Description: This online course presents a practical overview of online teaching in the healthcare profession. The primary focus is on student engagement, instructional design, and the evaluation of learning. Other topics relative to the delivery of quality educational materials in the health professions will be introduced, such as leadership, the use of simulation, the use of technology in the delivery of instruction, and how to assure the quality of online delivery.

OBJECTIVES/Outcomes:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to

  1. Develop an online educational course for health care providers and students which is goal-based and skill-oriented
  2. Create Student engagement for learning through formative assignments, discussion groups, self-reflection and peer learning.
  3. Understand and Apply evidence-based principles of student-centered learning for young and adult learners in a practical fashion.


Target Audience:

This course is  intended for practicing physicians and academic physicians and other health care providers who want to teach their clinical expertise  online to a broad audience.
